Introduction to Online Study At The Institute

old books

Not everyone is suited for online study. It requires determinations and self driven motivation. There is no one to prod you along other than yourself. One of the great criticisms offered by online education detractors is that online study can't deliver.

This simply is not true. In fact, all studies now point to the fact that online study, once mastered, is far superior to classroom exposure particularly where online study includes both synchronous, asynchronous, and WEB 2.0 applications.

All students entering The DiUlus Institute must take Intro to Online Education Orientaton class. This is a non-credit course designed to introduce the uninitiated student and those who have studied online elsewhere to the complex and highly sophisticated online education opportunity the Institute offers. Once the course is completed, the Dean and the instructor will determine if the student is capable of continuing to undertaking serious and rigorous study online and succeed.

How long will it take to complete a degree program?

It is possible to complete a graduate degree through the Institute's Virtual Campus in one to two and a half years. DiUlus Scholars will expected to take one or two courses every 8 after the introductory session is completed and to complete the program within the available time frames set out for their degree program.

DiUlus Scholars have up to five years to complete the degree, once admitted. There is no probationary period. If a student fails to maintain a "B" average, they are withdrawn automatically from the Institute.

How does a Scholar obtain books?

Most materials a DiUlus Scholar will need will be available online.

How much time does a Scholar need to study for each course?

Carnegie milestones suggest three hours of study outside of class for every hour of class time. With the Internet, these figures may seem hard to manage and categorize but they are not. Your instructor knows when you are online, what you are doing and how long you spend with your lessons or assignments. Often, experience shows, online students actually spend more time in the pursuit of study then their contemporary peers who are attending a typical campus classroom. DiUlus Scholars need to spend 9 to 12 hours per week online and off in pursuit of handling class assignments & discussions.
