Not everyone is suited for online study. It requires determinations and self driven motivation. There is no one there to prod you along other than yourself. One of the great criticisms of online detractors is that online study can't deliver. This simply is not true. In fact, all studies now point to the fact that online study, once mastered, is far superior to classroom exposure particularly where online study includes both synchronous and asynchronous applications and WEB 2.0 applications.

All students entering The DiUlus Institute must take Intro to Online Education 101. This is a non-credit course designed to introduce the uninitiated student and those who have studied online elsewhere to the complex and highly sophisticated online education opportunity the Institute offers. Once the course is completed, the instructor will determine if the student is capable of continuing to undertaking serious and rigorous study online.

It is possible to complete a graduate degree through the Institute's Virtual Campus in one to two and a half years. Typically, DiUlus Scholars will take one or two courses every 8 to 10 weeks to complete the program within the available time frames. DiUlus Scholars have up to five years to complete the degree program, once admitted.

All DiUlus Scholars are required to take the Intro to Online Education 101 whether the student is an undergraduate or graduate student. This is not an optional course. It is a requirement of all admitted students. Master students must complete a Thesis regardless of their chosen field of study.

Some of the discussion and feedback about the material will be done together online providing an opportunity to view a live lecture and participate. Other activities do not require participation at a specific time. This format is the Institute's unique process, which means that DiUlus Scholars can sign on and participate at times convenient to them and also attend a live lecture online if they so desire. Discussions can start on a topic and later a Scholar may respond to it, commenting and furthering the discussion.

Perhaps. The Insitute's intention however is to provide all  materials a DiUlus Scholar will need online. Traditional textbooks can be viewed and studied online through the Institutes 40,000 volume academic elibrary.

Carnegie milestones suggest three hours of study outside of class for every hour of class time. With the Internet, these figures may seem hard to manage and categorize but they are not. Your instructor knows when you are online, what you are doing and how long you spend with your lessons or assignments. Often, experience shows, online students actually spend more time in the pursuit of their study then their contemporary, on ground, friends who attend a typical campus classroom. Thus, It depends on you and your reading and learning speed DiUlus Scholars need to spend 9 to 12 hours per week (including the time attending classes & discussions).

They may include some or all of the following:

  • Case studies
  • class discussions
  • group projects
  • Internet activities
  • midterm and final exams
  • reading and response
  • a term paper
  • workbook exercises
  • live lectures
  • taped lectures
  • MP3 broadcasts
  • live one on one with the instructors
  • group dynamics with the instructor
  • threaded discussions
  • open and closed forums by and between you and the instructor
  • open and closed forums by and between you and fellow students
  • A classroom is a virtual Web 2.0 laboratory

First you will need to apply and wait to receive your acceptance letter as a DiUlus Scholar. Then you may register for the class.
