The DiUlus Institute is a non-profit, cyber-based, experimental, higher education institution. The Institute is dedicated to offering cutting edge curriculum and instruction to select individuals known as DiUlus Scholars, tuition free. Serving as a model showcase, the Institute will demonstrate its innovative pedagogy, technology, and methodology to higher education institutions and instructors anywhere in the world. Starting in 2003, the Institute was was one of a handful of legitimate, emerging, virtual schools in organization. With six years of credible development under its belt, the Institute will begin admitting its first online scholars in 2009, an historical milestone for the first online international tuition free university.

During the early 1890's, one Alfonso DeIuliis, later to change his name to Diulus passed through the European gateway for immigrants at Ellis Island. As an Italian national, immigrating to the United States from famine ridden Europe, he was looking for, as so many immigrants to America at that time were, a piece of those American streets many new arrivals to the new world believed were paved with gold. For him, the real gold was education.

As the original guardian of the family flame, Alfonso personally witnessed the ‘Lighting of the 'Lamp of Knowledge’ that has now passed through five generations of descendants. Alfonso’s enduring legacy lives on through the Institute. Many generations are destined to learn by the light of his vision. ________________________________________________________________________
